Police filed charges after investigation resulting in statement that Keleminec's behavior „showed all crucial characteristics of criminal act of public encouragement of hate and violence as defined by Article 325 of the Criminal Code of Croatian Republic and against specific group, in this case Serbian national minority“.

After second incident of torching Novosti, on Tuesday September 12, police informed investigation of Keleminec would expended. Keleminec had torched number of Novosti Weekly Magazine copies even before, at September 2, stating that Magazine had inspired arsons in Croatia at the heat of the tourist season.
